Make HER Day This Mother’s Day

Happy Monday! 

Before you know it, it will be Mother’s Day.  Are you ready?  First, you have to understand why we have Mother’s Day.  Is it just another gift card holiday?  Not likely…here’s some interesting info about Mother’s Day:

• The earliest recognition of mothers date back to the annual spring festival the Greeks
• The festival was dedicated to Rhea, the mother of many deities, and to the offerings ancient Romans made to their Great Mother of Gods, Cybele
• Christians celebrated this festival on the fourth Sunday in Lent in honor of Mary, mother of Christ
• In England this holiday was expanded to include all mothers and was called Mothering Sunday.

Today we celebrate Mother’s Day on the second Sunday in the Month of May.  I would love to know what is your favorite way to spend Mother’s Day?  What traditions do you have?
